This was an incredible wedding. We had the pleasure of joining Rachel & John near Frederick, MD at the Antrim 1844. The Venue is absolutely exquisite. From the restored buildings and kept rooms to the immaculate grounds, every where on the property was just incredible to use for photos. The Groom put the finishing touches on getting ready in the Pub located in the main hotel. The guys gathered around the bar before heading outside for a few photos. I joined Rachel in the Bridal suite shortly after and she was stunning! We gathered her bridal things for a few quick photos before she began getting dressed. Once she was ready to go we did a first look with John under their favorite tree on the property that happened to be covered in luscious bright yellow leaves.
Portraits were taken before and after the ceremony. The Groom's father married the couple surrounded by family and friends and they ended the pre-reception festivities with a sparkler tribute. The reception started with a first dance with the couple followed by dinner and cake. We ended the evening with more dancing and I personally stayed in one of the fantastic rooms the Antrim had to offer.
When asked if they had any advice to other couples planning a wedding during the COVID-19 Pandemic, the couple said,
"We went into planning with the mindset that things will go wrong, and that there are just some things that we can't control. All we can do is enjoy the process of planning. So that's exactly what we did. I can remember a few times where I ordered something and it wasn't exactly what I wanted, or something didn't fit, and I was very upset, and John calmed me down and helped me fix whatever issue I was having. With any issues, there will be solutions, this is why you should also Start EARLY!!! If you start early, you have time to find exactly what you want, and fix any problems that come up. No settling! Work together and make sure that both parties' voices are heard! The day is about BOTH of you. Stay organized. I can't tell you how much of a difference that made. I had made a list of everything that needed to be done for the entire wedding, and slowly just went through each item. I also made a list of everything that we were bringing for decorations for our wedding along with where they were going. Label everything! The more organized you are the easier the day will go! And finally, take a few minutes out of your wedding day to just soak in the moment with your partner. The day will fly by so fast. Take the time to really reflect on your beautiful day. All your hard work will speak for itself, enjoy it! "
Congratulations John & Rachel, we wish you a lifetime of happiness!
