Loving Newborn and Maternity | Professional Pregnancy & Baby Photographer MD

These are just a few of the reasons I love doing maternity and newborn photos.  The expectant mother's excitement and the purity of a new baby.  I love taking clean images a little on the darker side.  I have spent this past year finding my niche, what I like, (what I don't) and what my style is and I have found maternity and newborn to definitely be my favorite.

Newborn photography is not for the camera enthusiast.  What I have learned is it takes a lot of patience, knowledge, education, skill, proper equipment, photoshop knowledge and most of all maternal instinct.

I have been a legitimate business for over a year now.  While I don't regret starting, I think if I had known how much work, time and money would be involved with starting out, I might have waited another year or two to start.  No one really understands the amount of work, research, investment and sacrifice goes into being a custom photographer until they actually go into business and try it.  I have read that the majority of photography business do not make it to their 5th anniversary, I would like to be in this for the long haul.  While it is a lot of work, and sometimes more than I can handle, I thoroughly enjoy getting to take part in intimate moments of people's lives, taking photos to stand a moment still.  As an avid scrapbooker for 10 years now, I can appreciate the importance of photographs and what they mean to a family.  They become part of a family's history, their heritage.  I am blessed to be given the gift I have to take the photos that I do.  It takes much more than a great camera to take a nice photograph :) 

Baby Boy G {14 Days} | Professional Baby Photographer - Berlin, Ocean City, Salisbury MD

Is he not the cutest little thing?!?  This little hammy came into the world a couple of weeks earlier than expected.  Weighing in at just over 6lbs, he was a little sack of sugar!  Mr. sleepy slept through most of his studio session and enjoyed a few pics with mom and dad on the beach a few days later.

These lovely ladies needed photos for business cards and advertising.  The location of the photos was magnificent and gave us a variety of backdrops to choose from.

Puppy Love

I have to take a moment and brag...  We are the proud new owners of a golden retriever puppy named Luka.  I have to admit, while I have liked dogs I have never seen myself as a real "dog person"...until now.  I have had cats all my life but the right puppy came along and now we have a great new addition to our family!  Shown above in his first Assateague swim, he has brought our family joy and the kids just love him so much!  I am not much on pet photography but I am sure he will be gracing my facebook wall and photo blog now and then with our family.

Love at First Click | Professional Outdoor Photographer - Berlin, Beach, Ocean City, MD

It was love at first click!  These are my first photos taken with the Canon 5D Mark III and I am pretty happy with the results!  The 5DMII was an incredible machine for Canon to build on and to improve on that it makes the Mark III a camera well beyond it's time.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Mark II but I wanted something that I could utilize better in lower light situations, so far this camera has not let me down.  The ISO capabilities are incredible.  I am sure I will never be able to wrap my head around all of the features it has but for now, I am just loving this baby!!!

Fun Family Beach Session

This was a super fun family to take pictures of on the beach.  The wind tried to get the best of us but we worked it out well.  The girls were so fun and were naturals at smiling for the camera.  Hoping they enjoyed their stay in Ocean City, Maryland!

OC Beach Maternity {W}

Had a blast taking photos of this lovely couple in town for vacation.  They are expecting their first baby and over the moon about it!  We had a boiling hot week and the weather for this evening turned out about just right!

One of my favorite maternity sessions ever.  I was honored to be a part of this special family's happy time.  Baby will be here soon and Dad is now walking again after a serious accident just in time to see his new little guy home.  Wishing them all of the love and success in life <3

Senior Photos | Professional Senior Photographer - Salisbury, Berlin, Ocean City, MD

Introducing High School Rep for Delmar High School, Megan Daye.  I have sooo many favorite shots from this session.  A sample senior gallery will be posted on facebook to see the amount of diversity you can get into a two hour session.  The beauty of a two hour session means many locations, indoor and out.  We were able to hit 4 locations and several outfit changes with the time we were given.
