After a very rainy day we weren't quite sure how the weather was going to hold out for us.  The weather ended up being perfect at the Ocean City Inlet.  The cloudy skies set up a nice haze for us and filtered out all of the harsh sun.  The temperatures had broken from the 100 degree heat the day before and it felt great to be on the shore.  These two little luvies were no stranger to my camera and I loved how they played up the smiles for me.  Ending with a short dip to the knees in the Ocean, they had quite a good time getting their photos done.

Finally got to photography my little luvies for Independence Day festivities.  I love red, white and blue and I actually bought their outfits back in April or May for this session.  I took them to the Ocean City inlet when all of the flags were hung around the perimeter of the parking lot.  They had a great time playing in the waves after and I have a good time capturing it!

After spending three weeks in the hospital this little lady came to see me at 4 weeks new for her newborn portraits.  She slept like a champ and had the dreamiest newborn soft skin you could imagine.  I loved getting to know her and seeing her happy mama.  We sure had a lot of laughs during her precious newborn session!

Can't believe this little guy is already a year old, it has been so much fun watching him grow over the past year and getting to know his mom and dad.  So happy to be such a big part of his first year and this cupcake smash on their farm was so much fun!  I got to meet their horses and play with this little man in his element.  The cupcake smash was a great time, he wasn't quite sure about the cupcake at first but after he got a taste of the icing he jumped right in.

This little peanut shares a birthday with her mama!  When Mama told me her room was done in pink and white and that she wanted a lot of coordinating looks in her photo session, my mind went wild with pink and white creations!  I loved how sweetly she just curled right up for me and she slept so well for her sleepy poses.

The Ocean City, MD Airshow took place last weekend, it was a great event for families and children. My boys had a ball and loved watching the loud planes fly overhead!  They hooted and hollered with excitement every time the thunderbird jets were low enough to make our hearts thud and our eyes light up.  One of my favorite things about living on the shore is seeing the air show each year, I hope my kids will always get this excited for it!

This little pumpkin takes the cake on smiling newborns for me!  She must have smiled 10 times during her session, sometimes asleep and sometimes not but always right before she fell asleep she would give me a little smirk or a stretch that went from ear to ear!  I loved her personality and she had so much of it!

Baby Boy F | Nautical Patriotic Newborn Session | Dana Marie Photography

Loving all of these nautical themed props and shoots for newborns lately.  This little guy was nearly three weeks old for his newborn session and still slept much like a champ!  The anchor was something new I tried layering it with a wrap and some fir.  His daddy also has a coining business, Gray Water Ops which makes coins for distribution of fundraisers or commemoratives.  We did a couple of photos using coins from Daddy's work.  The patriotic photo above showcases a 9/11 coin which was used to raise funds for the American Red Cross.

This little one's big brother was excited to get in on the sibling photo action at the end of the newborn session.  I have had so many babies with thick heads of hair the past couple of weeks, it has been fun to work with.

Little Pink Houses of Hope | Multi-Family Photoshoot | Dana Marie Photography

I was contacted awhile back about doing volunteer photography work for Little Pink Houses of Hope, an organization that sets up a week long vacation for women currently going through breast cancer treatment or having just finished up with treatment.  I jumped on board to work with the project when they were coming to the Ocean City area.  Last week I met with 9 families in the Ocean City Inlet for family photos.  These beautiful families came out ready to rock and roll and we made it through all of the families in just over 2 hours and it didn't feel very rushed.  When asked what their favorite parts of the week were I heard go-karts, stand up paddle boarding and the rides all more than a few times.  These guys had a great visit and the weather could not have been better for them that week.  So happy to be part of such an amazing project!

When Momma told me this little cutie's room was done in giraffes and that she had a giraffe hat made for her and didn't want pink in her session, I knew exactly how I wanted it to show in her newborn portraits.  I love when clients bring fun things to work with, it gives me new props to be creative with.

Loved having this sweet Berlin family come in to see me.  I photographed the little princess on the end almost two years ago for her newborn photos and now she is in with a new little brother.  Loved his blonde locks and he was the dreamiest sleeping baby you could imagine.
