She told me at the end of the day that she remembered what I said in my office about being flexible with weather and having fun, that made my night!  This wedding was incredible, when I met with Gabi and Diana at the studio and we talked about their wedding vision, I wanted on board!  They were getting married here with friends then going back home and getting married later in September. One thing I always tell my couples, let me stress about the weather and make a plan, we will have fun and get great photos no matter what we have to do around Mother Nature.  My equipment is built to withstand some rain and I don't mind getting wet or dirty to keep them dry and get some great photos.  The morning of this wedding it was windy, like tropical storm 35-40mph wind.  I arrived to the venue a little early and we made a plan to work around the wind and whatever else would be sent our way that afternoon.  I remembered the tunnel from a wedding I did a couple of years ago and made it a point to utilize the tunnel for no wind for some of the portraits, what I didn't count on was the buckets of rain that would be falling while we were under it!  We made it under the tunnel just in time for the rain to fall and took what we needed to before heading back and finishing under the cover of the front of the venue, these guys were amazing and rocked every bit of these photos.  The love they shared was magnetic between them and back to my camera.  We rocked the evening with a first dance and sparklers at sunset.  The one amazing thing about rain is that more times than not it will give you a sunset that doesn't disappoint and this night the skies were artistically incredible.  Thank you so much Gabi and Diana for having me be a part of your special day, we wish you a lifetime of happiness.

What an amazing event, while I have shot at Kylan Barn a handful of times now, this was my first full day wedding at Kylan Barn and it was perfection from start to finish.  The weather looked bleak with local areas flooding around us and angry skies above but Ashley & Andrea pulled off a seamless event with the help of local vendors being flexible and ready to work.  The ceremony was moved under the awning of the barn and Coastal Tents did an incredible job of creating a masterpiece of chairs cascading around the couple saying their nuptials with friend Parker officiating.  The couples rings were protected with a beautiful ornate ring box carved with their wedding date and lastname.

Portraits went off without a hitch using the barns awning to the other side to keep family members dry and free of walking in wet grass.  Following the family portraits the bridal party walked the property to take some fun photos before kicking off the party with DJ John inside.  When the couple first danced to a slow version of Foo Fighter's Everlong I swooned behind my camera.  While there wasn't much of a sunset, we were able to get some really cool night time rain pictures with the only real steady rain we had of the day which was about a ten minute shower.  Following dinner and cake we went outside to do the Kylan Barn tradition of signing a lock to place on the iron wrought fence.  The evening concluded with lots of dancing, drinks, laughs, shots and a nice late slow dance under the twinkling lights.  Congratulations Trish and Bret, I was so honored to be a big party of your special day and wish you a lifetime of happiness together!
