We sure have some crazy weather on the eastern shore but this wedding had just about everything but the snow.  The day started with heat that indexed over 95 degrees, one of those days as a photographer you make a game plan for how to maximize portrait times to shoot a lot in short periods of time to keep people hydrated and cool.  By the time the ceremony was set to begin the heat had broke, the clouds were out and it had started to rain off and on.  Luckily Rachel with Kylan barn helped come up with a plan that by delaying the ceremony by 15 minutes we would still be able to have it outside as planned and it went off without a hitch!  The ceremony was exquisite and the groom's face when Chelsea rounded the corner was priceless!  After the ceremony we had a very short window of time for all of the portraits before the next round of storms came through.  We were able to clear the bridal party, family and the two of them and walk the property in under 25 minutes.  Towards the end a storm had started off in the distance and lighting could be seen stretching across ways in the sky behind the couple.  We walked under the cover of Kylan Barn with 4 seconds to spare before the skies opened wide and the buckets of rain fell.

Guests were treated to original wood fired pizza barnside followed by custom ice cream desserts brought in by the Vanderwende Ice Cream truck.  Once the reception was underway rainbows could be seen outside followed by a beautiful sunset.  The night came to a close with cake from the dessert bar and the couple dancing to their favorite songs with friends and family.  Congratulations Chelsea and Bryon, we wish you a lifetime of happiness!

What an amazing event, while I have shot at Kylan Barn a handful of times now, this was my first full day wedding at Kylan Barn and it was perfection from start to finish.  The weather looked bleak with local areas flooding around us and angry skies above but Ashley & Andrea pulled off a seamless event with the help of local vendors being flexible and ready to work.  The ceremony was moved under the awning of the barn and Coastal Tents did an incredible job of creating a masterpiece of chairs cascading around the couple saying their nuptials with friend Parker officiating.  The couples rings were protected with a beautiful ornate ring box carved with their wedding date and lastname.

Portraits went off without a hitch using the barns awning to the other side to keep family members dry and free of walking in wet grass.  Following the family portraits the bridal party walked the property to take some fun photos before kicking off the party with DJ John inside.  When the couple first danced to a slow version of Foo Fighter's Everlong I swooned behind my camera.  While there wasn't much of a sunset, we were able to get some really cool night time rain pictures with the only real steady rain we had of the day which was about a ten minute shower.  Following dinner and cake we went outside to do the Kylan Barn tradition of signing a lock to place on the iron wrought fence.  The evening concluded with lots of dancing, drinks, laughs, shots and a nice late slow dance under the twinkling lights.  Congratulations Trish and Bret, I was so honored to be a big party of your special day and wish you a lifetime of happiness together!
